FMC has a strong backbone but is a total sweetheart with the morals of a saint. Like, if you can’t take bodice ripping scenes, stay away. My heart physically ached the first time I read this book. PLENTY of angst and pining, groveling, and heartbroken tears from both MMC and FMC. MMC is one of the most well done, in-love-over-his-head, devastated MMC’s I have ever read. The plot has a solid conflict that is really difficult for the MMC and FMC to overcome. General plot without major spoilers is summarized below. Has anyone read it?Īnyways, it’s my all time favorite HR, and honestly, I haven’t read much HR after I finished this one a few years ago because nothing else can compare for me! Wish to death this author had more books, it’s a tragedy that she only has two, and the second book in this series was a DNF for me (had BDSM, I’m not a fan) I’m semi new here and this book is older (published 2005) so idk. This book does NOT get enough love on this sub and I have no idea why - not sure if people have already read it / it’s old news, if most of you have never heard of it, or what. Hello all! My first proper post on this sub.īeen seeing a ton of HR requests on here lately (thanks to Bridgerton Season 2, I assume) and have the best book rec for those of you who love HR! Just posted this as a comment reply to a request for angsty HR recs and thought, why not share it with the whole sub?
